The walk

The Halloween walk is what ACD Santa Clara-a-Nova has planned for the last night of October 2026: a 7-kilometre route walked at night, in a mask and with a torch, leaving the clubhouse at 9:30 pm. The poster's motto is simple: "Vem divertir-te!", come and have fun.

The poster does not give the route, the duration or the expected finish time. For those details, and to register, call the registration number, +351 965 755 580. Registration is free.

ACD, founded in 1998, is the village's cultural and sports association. Besides football in the Beja district leagues, it organises gatherings through the year such as the end-of-summer party. This walk has the support of the Santa Clara-a-Nova parish council.

What to bring

The first two items are on the poster. The rest are our suggestions for a 7 km night walk at the end of October.

Torch
Compulsory, says the poster. The route is walked at night; a head torch keeps your hands free.
Mask
"Bring your mask": it is a Halloween walk and the costume is part of the fun.
Comfortable footwear
Seven kilometres on foot call for worn-in trainers or boots, not new shoes.
A warm layer
Nights in the hills are already cool at the end of October, especially after 10 pm.

In case of rain or a change of plan, the decision is the organiser's. Check on +351 965 755 580.

Coming from away

Santa Clara-a-Nova is about 15 km from Almodôvar, off the A2 motorway. Lisbon is about 200 km away (2h30); Faro about 100 km (1h15). The village is small and the clubhouse is easy to find; if in doubt, call the registration number.

The village has three holiday rentals, one restaurant and two cafés. If you want to stay the night after the walk, book ahead.
