ACD Santa Clara-a-Nova
Associação Cultural e Desportiva de Santa Clara-a-Nova, the village cultural and sports association, founded on 15 December 1998.
“Ontem, hoje e sempre, com o Santa no coração”
Yesterday, today and always, with Santa in our hearts: the club in its own words.
The village club
ACD Santa Clara-a-Nova is the village cultural and sports association. First of all it is the local football club: the senior team plays in the district leagues of the Beja Football Association and hosts its opponents at the Campo de Jogos de Santa Clara-a-Nova.
But the name says it all. Beyond football, the club has for years been one of the engines of village life, with festivities, dances and gatherings that bring together the people who live here and those who come back for the holidays.
It receives yearly support from the Almodôvar municipal council for its activities, plus one-off grants for player registrations, kit, the summer festivities and Carnival.
Um Clube de boa gente... Um Clube da terra... Um Clube do presente virado pro futuro!!!
A club of good people, a club of the land, a club of the present facing the future.

The home ground

The turf came from an Almodôvar municipal council project launched in 2021 and carried out by the then parish union. The club itself chose the turf pitch over a multi-sports court. While the works lasted, the team played its home games in Almodôvar, with council support for the travel.
